  1. I wonder if she approved this picture, or if, indeed, she held the pose for the length of the capturing.

    In her photograph, she could be Oscar Wilde's sedate, reserved sister, but this one---Lady Catherine de Bourgh to the life.

    I'm captivated by the telling of her, via A Super Dilettante.

  2. hi Rachel- She likely did- John was a close friend and purported lover at one time. She maintained a friendship with him and his later wife-Dorelia. She does have the hauteur of what we perceive as nobility. She is indeed a fascinating woman-I think she had much to contribute to the era-and hopefully these small entries add to her understanding. thanks for reading- PGT
