Ottoline Divine is off road-down the way from little augury-but I think most readers know that-in fact- I think we are an exclusive set that gather here when something utterly Ottoline appears in current conscience of Art-Fashion-Creation- but you get the idea. We know Ottoline as an Original and whether others today are just happening upon her-or through self discovery happen to get catch the spirit of the Lady-she is every where.

That is a magnificent photo of Ott, PGT! If only we could see her flaming red hair. Would it be a travesty for me to paint her? Just as is, but with hair tinted a bit? Yes, it's on my list to-do.
ReplyDeleteAnd there are her pearls... Is that indeed the particular strand from the neck of Marie Antoinette? You must find out - and do please research that ribbon-cord one sees 'round Ott's neck quite frequently. At first, 20th century eyes think - oh, the camera strap. Twenty-first century eyes might think - oh, a backstage pass, but it's neither. What, exactly is it? Do see if you can sleuth it out.
Oh, the bow! That might need a touch of color as well - perhaps an enigmatic, tinted whisper. Is the bow just tied there at the bosom... a scarf? Or is it an intrinsic piece of garment construction. It drapes so... against Ott, that it seems to be built into the bodice.
Again, you've sparked the imagination - with Ottoline, through your own peepers!
Beautiful, special, challenging, AUTHENTIC work you are doing here. I have just googled her and I am reading her bio on Wikipedia. Had no idea...
